August 31, 1964 - October 24, 2021
Yolane Surrette Marcano was called home to the Lord's loving embrace on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Yolane was a beautiful woman, in every sense of the word. She was our angel, sent to earth to bring her family and friends pure and unconditional love. When Eisabeth Kubler-Ross said "People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within," she must have been thinking of Yolane. The light that shown from Yolane could light the darkest of days - like a lighthouse providing guidance and safety through life's darkest storms for those who turned to her for strength. During good times, she was as lively as a butterfly floating and dancing in a field of wildflowers on a warm summer day. Always the life of the party, she had an infectious and genuine laugh - once she started laughing, no one around her could resist joining in. She enjoyed celebrations and loved to dance. Yolane enjoy every minute of her time on this earth and lived it to the fullest. Yolane is survived by the love of her life; her loving and devoted husband, Robert Marcano, her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Aaron Coley, sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Jody Lawson, brother and sister-in-law, Kelvin and Anna Chatman, her sister-in-law, Margaret Fogel, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Betsy Marcano, her Aunt Burt, Aunt Dorothy Butch, Aunt Virginia Carter, Aunt Sylvia Carter, her most favorite grandniece, Johnise "Bookie" Faggins, her nieces: Ashley "Boop-Boop" Lawson and her favorite four-legged great-nephew, Axl, nieces Annie Fleming, Demetria Chatman, Kristine Tucker, Jennifer Tucker, Margo Marcano, Anna Marcano, and Madison Marcano, her nephews: Charlie Coley, Dawayne Chatman, and Tony Chatman, and her Godchildren: Mikey Lawson, Mooney Lawson. Keedy Faggins, Diana Farqui, and Jessica Matula, and many, many, more family and friends. She is also survived by her favorite four-legged great-nephew, Axl, Boop-Boop's furbaby. Yolane has joined her parents Charlie and Anna Chatman, mother-in-law, Lydia Marcano, her brother, Erroll Chatman, sister Cynthia Chatman, and her niece, Tifany Chatman in the Kingdom of Heaven. Although Yolane Marcano has left those of us still here on Earth, we must try not morn her passing, but instead rejoice in the blessing she was in each of our lives. Those who wish to celebrate Yolane's life and love are welcome to attend visitation on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Minister Ollie Blackwell will conduct service on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., after which Yolane's body will be laid to rest at Shoreland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
