Sylvia Kahn

October 31, 1935 - June 13, 2022

Our East Midwood Jewish Community mourns the passing of Sylvia Irene Berkowitz Kahn, Sima Chaya bat Heshey v'Gittle, beloved wife of the late Samuel Kahn, z"l, devoted mother of son Glenn and his wife Mihoko, mother of our member, daughter Sharon Kahn, grandmother of three cherished grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Sylvia was exceptionally devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. She highly valued education and instilled this value in her children. Sylvia felt education was one of the most powerful aspects of life. Sylvia will be reunited with her esteemed husband, Samuel, Sh'muel ben Leon v'Chana, z"l of 59 years at Arlington National Cemetery. Samuel was a veteran of WW II and was a prisoner of war. He escaped and rescued many people and was awarded the Purple Heart. Sylvia will be laid to rest with her husband in a graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC. May they both Rest In Peace. In memory of Sylvia Irene Berkowitz Kahn, donations may be made to Brooklyn College Alumni Association at: [email protected]" title="Click to open in a new window or tab" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">[email protected] [email protected]> May the memory of Sylvia Berkowitz Kahn be for a blessing. May the Kahn Family be comforted among all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
