Salvatore L. Mazzella

January 24, 1941 - April 17, 2022

Salvatore L. Mazzella, 81, of Matawan, passed away on April 17, 2022, at Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel, NJ. He was born on January 24, 1941, to John and Rose Mazzella in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Valley Stream Central High School in 1958. He graduated Kettering University (GMI) with a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1962. He earned his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1968. Salvatore worked for General Motors Corporation for over 33 years, retiring in 1995 as the Director of Material and Production Control of the Linden, NJ, Assembly Plant. He ran his own management and consulting company, S. Hunter Enterprises, for many years after retiring from GM. He was devoted and active father, Scout leader, baseball coach, and all-around amazing dad to his four children, for whom he provided a wonderful and fulfilling childhood. Salvatore is survived by his loving spouse of 45 years, Susan; his son, Scott Mazzella (Liz), Patrick Mazzella (Mary); two daughters, Kerri Mazzella, Mary Uzzolino (Peter); sister, Lucille Moran; eight grandchildren, Cooper, Fynn, Ryan, Emily, Noah, Alexa, Owen, and Caroline. He was preceded in death by father, John Mazzella, mother, Rose Riamondi. Visitation will be held Friday, April 22, 2022, 11:00 am - 1:30 pm at Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Hwy 79, Morganville, NJ. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, 1:30 pm at the Waitt Funeral Home, Morganville, NJ. Entombment will take place in the Marlboro Mausoleum & Cemetery.
