Mike Centeno Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mike Centeno, 57, of Matawan, NJ passed away on May 8, 2021, at Raritan Bay Medical Center Old Bridge, NJ. He was born on May 25, 1963, to the late Ignacio Centeno and Victoria Cruz in New York City. Mike lived in Bronx, NY, and Concord, CA before relocating to Matawan 19 years ago. He worked as an Operations Manager for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, a position he held for 20 years. Mike is predeceased by his brother Sandy. He is survived by his loving partner and wife of 30 years Ana, his son, Louis, his four daughters, Christina, Debbie, Emily, and Chelsea; his seven brothers, Ignacio, Luis, Hiram, Jose, Ismael, Dennis, Pedro, and two sisters, Rose, and Vicky. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, 26 nieces and nephews, and countless friends who love and cherish his memory. Mike was an avid lover of sports. He instilled his love for the game in his children. From playing football and baseball in high school to coaching his daughters through eleven years of softball, sports were truly an important staple in his life. When he wasn't on the field, you could find him sitting in front of his big screen rooting for the New York Rangers. Mike was tough as a bull, but inside he was a giant teddy bear. He may have seemed like a very serious person, but when it came to his grandkids, he was a huge softy. Mike had so much love to give; his heart was always open, and he touched every person he ever met. He was dependable, selfless, and constantly put the needs of others before his own. Mike was and always will be the heart and rock of the Centeno family. He will always be remembered. Family and friends are invited to remember Mike during visitation on Thursday, May 20, 2021, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Old Bridge Funeral Home, 2350 Rt 516, Old Bridge. A funeral service will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 11 am followed by interment in Marlboro Cemetery.
