Marie G. Ritchie

July 1, 1947 - May 30, 2022

Marie G. Ritchie, 74 of Shark River Hills, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2022 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Marie was the daughter of Charles J. Ritchie Sr. and Anna Laurinaitis Ritchie. Marie was a graduate of St. Patrick's grammar and high schools in Elizabeth and a member of the St. Patrick's Hall of Fame. She was an executive assistant with PSE&G, Newark for her entire career until retiring. Marie spent most of her life in Elizabeth before moving to Shark River Hills 22 years ago with her beloved husband Martin Quigley. The most important thing in Marie's life was her family. Although she had no children of her own, she was a devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews and their children. Marie was predeceased by her husband Martin, her parents, and two sisters Ann M. Ritchie and Mildred Carney. She is survived by her brother Charles J. Ritchie, Jr. and his wife Angela, sister Lorraine Grenville and her husband Richard along with her nieces and nephews Lynn Moakley (John), Gina Brennan (Brian), Charles Ritchie (Katie), Scott Ritchie (Erin), Leighton Grenville (Alicia), Gareth Grenville, Andrew Grenville and Michelle Vale Terra (Joel) and her eight great nieces and nephews. She will also forever be known as Grandma "Mamba" to Michelle and Joel's children, Paul and Penelope. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday June 2nd at the Waitt Funeral Home, 501 Hwy 79, Morganville. Friends and family are invited to Immaculate Conception RC Church, 18 South St. Spotswood at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 3rd for the funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1000 East Edgar Rd, Linden, NJ. Flowers will be accepted or you may make a donation to your favorite charity in Marie's memory.
