Jacqueline Bertram Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jacqueline Conley Bertram of Old Bridge, NJ, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, November 29, 2021. She is survived by her loving children Joanne Sullam and her husband Jonathan, James Bertram, John Bertram and his wife Isabel, and Joe Bertram and his wife Sue; eight adoring grandchildren: Laura Sullam, Olivia Sullam, James Bertram, Sydney Bertram, John Bertram Jr., Sam Bertram, Kate Bertram, and Charlie Bertram, and her devoted brother, Richard Conley, along with countless cousins and lifelong friends. Jackie was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 2, 1936 to John (North Adams, MA) and Kathleen Gallagher (Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo, Ireland). She attended Bishop McDonald High School and went on to study at St. John's University where she met the love of her life, Jim, in 1954. They married in 1959 and lovingly raised their four children together until his death in 1997. Jackie (Gran) will be remembered for many things, most notably her infectious smile and laugh, and love of everything family. Her passion for classic movies and trivia, daily crossword puzzles, and challenging you to a game of Scrabble are just a few of the things that will be mostly missed. Gathering with friends and family were an integral part of Jackie's life. She especially enjoyed her monthly meetings at Women of Irish Heritage of the Jersey Shore with her cousins, and her weekly meetings with her local friends at Club 60 and Saint Clement's Seniors. Gran will always be remembered as the cornerstone of the family, caring for her husband, children, and her parents. Even though she was a native of Brooklyn, her heart truly belonged to her beloved Manasquan and the many memories the family created at their Whiting Avenue home.
