Helen M. Stromenger

April 24, 1923 - July 26, 2017

Helen Stromenger, formerly of Matawan passed away on Wednesday July 26th, 2017. Helen was born in Jersey City and was the youngest of five. She was predeceased by her four older brothers. Helen worked at Western Electric and later at the Prudential Insurance Co, where she was a training and conference manager. Upon retirement from Prudential, Helen loved traveling and managed various group trips through the Cheesequake Village Association, including trips to Niagara Falls, Las Vegas, Branson Missouri, Atlantic City, etc. Helen also organized dances, shows, and many social events through her active residence association. Her thoughtfulness, generosity, sense of humor, and sharp wit will be greatly missed.Helen married her long-time husband Francis Stromenger in Washington DC in 1941 and lived a happy life together until his death in 1998. A few years later, Helen found long-term love and companionship with Thomas "Tom" Peterfesa who pre-deceased her in 2015.Helen is survived by her only child Diane and Son-In-Law Michael Kruglinski; grandson Michael Kruglinski and wife Melissa; granddaughter Kathryn and husband Ryan Ehrhart. She was also survived by great grandson Lucas Kruglinski and was very much looking forward to welcoming her great granddaughter in September. Helen was fortunate to have an extended family and many friends who loved her dearly.
