Elizabeth Ann Blackwell Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Elizabeth Ann Blackwell, 86, of Old Bridge, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the Roosevelt Care Center, in Old Bridge, NJ. Elizabeth was born on July 6, 1934 to John Joseph and Elizabeth Ann Chambers in the Bronx, NY. In 1956, she married Terence Blackwell. Elizabeth lived in Wisconsin for two years while her husband was stationed there as a Captain in the air force. She happily left Wisconsin to return to New York, before moving to Old Bridge in 1960. Elizabeth and Terence were longtime parishioners of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Old Bridge. While raising seven children, Elizabeth was awarded the Clairol Scholarship and returned to school at Rutgers University to pursue a master's degree. Elizabeth worked as Administrator in Human Resources for the Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital in Marlboro, NJ. Elizabeth was the head of the Blackwell Shopping Club. She loved reading, especially on the beach in Sagaponack. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terence G. Blackwell, in 1996; her daughter, Shannon Blackwell; her father, John Joseph Chambers, her mother, Elizabeth Ann Chambers, and her sister, Geraldine Chambers Fien. Elizabeth is survived by six loving children; four daughters, Lisa Veltri and her husband Vincent, Tara Sagliocco and her husband Saverio, Deidre Blackwell, Mara Mooney and her husband James; two sons, Terrence Blackwell, Jr. and his wife Cheryl, and John Blackwell and his wife Karen; eight grandsons, Terrence Blackwell, III, Christopher Blackwell, Patrick Blackwell, Bryan Ward, Brendan Ward, James Mooney, Sean Mooney, and Rex Lengyel; four granddaughters, Brittany Ward, Susan Sagliocco, Carissa Veltri, and Alexandra Blackwell; and two great-granddaughters, Adrianna Blackwell, and Chloe Ward. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 19, 2021, 10:30 AM at St. Ambrose R.C. Church, 96 Throckmorton Ln., Old Bridge, NJ.
