Edith Valentin, 87, of Old Bridge, died at home, surrounded by her loving family,on Friday January 28,2022. Born in Mayaguez Puerto Rico She was the daughter of Jose, Torres and Monserrate Ramirez. As a young woman she met and married Jose Valentin and the decided to move to Long Branch New Jersey to start a family of their own. They were married for 56 years until Mr. Valentin's passing in 2018. She lived in several places over the course of her life sharing time between Puerto Rico, with her daughter Doris in Charlotte, NC and her sons Alvin and Jose in Perth Amboy and finally in Old Bridge. She worked in the laundry and linen service at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch for many years. She was also a parishioner of St. Anthony Church, Red Bank. Most of all she was a loving wife and devoted mother raising her seven children.and in more recent years she was a doting grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Edith was predeceased by her husband Jose Martinez Valentin Soto in 2018. She is survived by her seven children, Jose, Alvin, Dominic, Norberto, Doris, Marisa and Milagros, 12 grandchildren. 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends Friends and family are invited to visit at the Bedle Funeral Home, 212 Main Street, Matawan on Saturday February 12, 2022 between the hours of 9:00 and 10:30 AM. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clement Roman Catholic Church, 172 Freneau Avenue, Matawan.at 11:00 AM. Cremation will be private.
